In a game that featured big plays by both teams, it was the Tully Black Knights who won out with a 30-22 victory over Institute of Technology Central in a Class C West contest that was part of the Kickoff Classic at the Carrier Dome.

After a scoreless first quarter, Tully stuck first when junior running back Jon Warner raced 59 yards down the right sideline for a 7-0 Black Knights lead. Tully also took advantage of a safety and capped off a five play 39-yard drive with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Nate Doody to Syrrus Nash to Syrrus Nash, just three seconds before the half.

On the ensuring kickoff the Eagles Josh Thomas nearly put his team on the scoreboard with a long return, but was finally hauled down at the 10-yard line.

Thomas responded in the third quarter with a 60-yard touchdown run that put the score at 16-6 after three quarters.

Tully answered right back on the ensuing drive, utilizing running back Mike Spain. Spain capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Tully later scored on another big play in the fourth quarter the when Nash returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown.

The Eagles did not quit, responding with two fourth quarter scores that brought them to with in a eight points. First,Thomas caught a 54 pass from Flowers for a touchdown. Then, with just 33 left in the game, ITC recovered a fumble and quickly drove 15 yards for a touchdown when Flowers found Wayne Jones for both the touchdown and two-point conversion.

Tully recovered the on-sides kick and held on for the win
